I see things much like Michael Wells states in his Artist Statement but with several major differences at stated below. Wright, Ramona - Artist’s Statement (2006) Most do not see the world as it is. Most see the world, as they believe it to be. As they look upon our world it appears to be made up of physical objects in empty space, each having existences separate from one another and independent of our seeing them. This is how human history has taught us to see. Nevertheless, there is another way of seeing which is older than our history and has always resided at the cutting edge of any given present moment. This way of seeing predates the authentic spiritual traditions that have come down to us from the archaic past, including advanced scientific theories of Cybernetics, Quantum Mechanics and Chaos. It actually reverberates in our being and the knowledge of the past, present and future and was created in every fiber of the human race. It was a gift from the Almighty himself in the form of “The Truth That Can Set You Free”. In this reality, "space" is not empty but filled with fields of force -- like waves emanating from matter -- manifesting order, pattern, rhythm and structure. Isolated material "objects" begin to be seen as processes, lattices of interconnected energy and solid fields of probability -- their existence, inseparable from our consciousness of them due to the fact that we have yet to embrace these inherited gifts created from the worlds beginning, and due to the fact that there was an interruption of our original purpose and why we were created in the first place, and as of yet not completed the Almighty purpose. From this point of view, you, I, and everything in the Universe are a continuum of potential, magnificent probabilities and possibilities exchanging energy at various levels of manifestation. Miraculously (that anything exists -- let alone this vast cosmos - is miraculous) we play creatively within these unfolding fields of force as our immediate experience and understanding of them grows to include increasingly higher and-finer levels of sensitivity, complexity and organization. The process of painting is one infinitesimal means through which I explore this old new way of seeing. The paintings that result are not merely "representations," they are themselves fields of created energy -- their meaning inseparable from their effect. At the very last, they are invitations to all who wish to accompany me in this exploration, an invitation to join the investigation, experience the drama and ask yourself, just what was Ramona feeling, thinking, reflecting; what truth was she trying to describe, recount or translate to herself and others. At the lest experience your own potential of rhythm, energy and fields of potential through the gift my God Jehovah gave me. |
